Key West fishing charters and guide
service. Fishing the Key West waters from the
backcountry to offshore. I fish all
the waters around Key West, from the Gulf of Mexico to
the Atlantic Ocean and the backcountry waters in
between. Key West Florida offers many different
types of fishing with so many species of fish to catch.
Key
West Tarpon Fishing Charters - Fishing for giant tarpon
right off Key West, Florida. Tarpon
Fishing near Key West and the Key West Harbor is to say
the least, impressive. Huge schools of these
giants start to show up February and by March it's on.
It only gets better April through July when the harbor
is full of tarpon. There are many guides fishing
for tarpon in the harbor, but we all get along and work
together. The Key West harbor is nothing like the
boat chaos you see at Boca Grand Pass on TV. Much
nicer and a lot fewer boats.
Key West
Offshore and Deep Sea Fishing - The deep Atlantic waters
off Key West have a lot to offer.
Different Seasons bring different species of fish to the
Atlantic waters or as we call it Out Front ( Atlantic is
out front yard and the Gulf of Mexico is our back yard).
Warm weather means plenty of Mahi Mahi out past the reef
along with wahoo and sailfish. When it's a little
cooler we see a lot more blackfin tuna, king mackerel
and wahoo and sailfish. They do not always play by
the rules, sometimes they are around when you would not
expect them to be.
Key West Reef
Fishing - Fishing the reefs in the Atlantic and the Gulf
of Mexico. The barrier reefs on the Atlantic
side offer constant action with yellowtail snapper.
You may also catch big mutton snapper, many types of
grouper, mackerel and many times run into a pelagic
species you normally see in deeper water. If you
looking for dinner, this is the fishing trip to do.
Key
West Wreck Fishing - Fishing the deep wrecks in the
Atlantic and the shallow wreck in the Gulf of Mexico.
Big hard fighting fish! The Atlantic wrecks hold
big mutton snapper, black grouper, african pompano,
amberjack and many pelagic such as wahoo, tuna, mackerel
and sailfish. The shallower Gulf wrecks are home
to cobia, very large mackerel, mangrove snapper,
grouper, barracuda and sharks.
Key West Flats
Fishing - Fishing the beutiful shallow water flats of
Key West and the lower Florida Keys. The Keys are
famous for its flats. They are very beautiful and
calm. True flats fishing is when the guide is
poling you across a flat or staked off waiting to sight
cast to a fish. This does take some patience but
is fun! This type of fishing is like hunting or
stalking for fish. It is not non stop action
fishing. You may catch tarpon, bonefish, permit,
jacks, barracudas and sharks.
Key West
Backcountry Fishing - Calm water fishing in the channels
and basins near the flats. If you are
worried about getting sea sick, this is the trip for
you. The water is always calm in the backcountry.
Plenty of action to keep you busy and tasty fish to
bring home for dinner.
Captain Paul
D'Antoni and the Florida Sportsman Magazine.
Yes, I was lucky enough to get a nice article and the
cover shot for Florida Sportsman magazine. It
really is a great article of wreck fishing in the Gulf
of Mexico. We fish for and caught cobia, king
mackerel and permit. I spill the beans of how to
target and catch all three in the Key west waters.
