Sailfishing offshore of Key West

Key West Florida Fishing offers incredible catches all year, every season.

As the weather and the water temperature change in the Key West waters, different species of fish inhabit the Florida Keys waters.  Water temperature is one of the most important factors in determining what will be around when you go charter fishing in Key West. Wind direction, wind speed and tides are also key factors.  With all this in mind, it is best to call me our drop me an email and I will tell you what type of fish will most likely be around at the time of your arrival in Key West, Florida.

I run light tackle fishing charters.  Seize the day is a 25' Contender center console( Brand New 2008 Model).  This is a great boat for up to 4 passengers.  Any more than that you will need more than one light tackle boat.
I have several other guides that use and book (good fishing guides)  and I can set up other boats for fishing charters, if you need more than one boat.

I fish both the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico.  Some of the fish I target are sailfish, dolphin, tuna, wahoo, kingfish, cobia, snapper, grouper, amberjack, tarpon, permit and sharks.  I mostly use live bait, but also fish with artificial baits or lures and use shrimp boat by-catch for tarpon fishing.

If I am not able to fit you in on my boat, I will find  a boat  for you.  I only book charters with guides and captains that I know personally and that I know will take good care of my customers.  I want to make sure you have a great fishing trip in Key West and I want you to come back and fish with me again. We always try our best, even on the tough days.

Key West charter fishing offers great catches every season, from inshore on the flats and back country to offshore on the reefs, wrecks and blue water.  Call me or send an email for more information on the different styles of fishing in Key West and prices of the variety of fishing charters available in Key West Florida.

If you look around, you will notice my rates are a little less than some other light tackle boats.  One of the reasons is that I run a single four stroke engine boat that is good on fuel.  This certainly helps keep the cost down.  Another reason is most of the guides down here pay huge commissions for other people to book their boats, 20% to 30%...I do not pay anyone to book me.  All of my business is repeat, referral and the rest is from this website, which I built and I maintain.  If you see a website listing more than one guide.  There is a really good chance that you are just looking at a bookies website.  Most likely, these guys do not fish here or guide here, they just want their 20% to 30% commission to book the trip!  If you book through a booking booth or a hotel concierge, they are most likely taking commission as well and have no idea what the fishing or the guide is really like.  I know most of them don't even fish.  Pretty messed up!!!  Call me to set up a trip.  I will make sure you get a good trip!

Seize the Day Charter Rates

1/2 Day - 4 hrs - $550
3/4 Day - 6hrs - $650

If I am already booked and I put you with another guide, their rates may be a little higher than mine...Larger boats, twin engines, rates increase.

During April, May and June (peak season), my rate for the full day may increase to $850.  This depends on the type of trip and dates I have available.
